A dog is a human’s best friend, as the cliché goes, but this domestic pig may disagree. Meet Chowder (pronounced “stew” in English), a 6-year-old Vietnamese bellied pig with an unusual group of pals.
The domestic animal shares his home with five rescued dogs named Rika, Slick, Niya, James, and Bashe, as well as his owner Shelby Madere of Southern California. We all know how wonderful dogs are as pets, but Chowder proves to be just as soft and adorable as his canine counterparts.
Pigs are famed for their friendliness and intelligence, and Vietnamese bellied pigs, in particular, are known for their love of snuggling.
Chowder’s behavior is unremarkable, as he frequently plays in the backyard with his dog companions and even wears the same collar as them, although one that is just the correct size for him. The friendly company has its own Instagram account, where over 47 thousand people enjoy following their excursions.
Take a peek at this crew. It’s clear that the pig is at ease in the company of the calm dogs. Fortunately, all of Chowder’s siblings embrace him as their adored brother.
We hope that their friendship will survive forever and that they will continue to delight their fans.
